The Darkest Night By: Gena Showalter
Personal Review of the Fa-nominal book series The Lords of The Underworld.
The Darkest Night is the first edition to this amazing, heart pounding and adventurous series. It was this very book that got me hooked. This book also quite frankly saved my life and my sanity but I won't go into that.
At any rate, this book started off slightly boring but the way Gena begins to weave her tale, her words grab onto you and yank you down. You become an unwilling victim and succumb to the sweet lull of Maddox, the most sexiest warrior of all time. Out of all the Lords, he was and will forever be my favorite character. Oh and Ashlyn, precious little Ashyln the blonde angelic beauty who captures the brute warriors attention. They are complete opposites! Maddox is a harsh, dark and dangerous beast while Ashyln is a sweet, caring and loving little lass that captures your heart almost instantly. This book really set it off for me and ever since, I have been reading the series religiously for the past few years. I am patiently waiting for more of the Lords books to come out.

I am currently reading Striders story, each and every warriors book entrances you leaving you gasping and begging for more ! Why I haven't written a review of this book is something I will never be able to tell you. Now I feel like its my Duty to share the wonders of this series among others that I hope to get around writing a review about but Gena Showalter is a great place to start.
Maddox is the Keeper of Wrath, he was punished by the Gods who once favored him as a precious warrior in the heavens only to be shamed and thrown back to earth after he had gone against the Gods will and opened Pandora box with his friends and unleashed the demons. Each of them having bestowed upon a demon for them to keep as punishment. This will be told over and over again in the books, I don't like how she repeats it in each of the books but it's for those who don't read series in order which is a great for those who don't but for those who are OCD about reading orders its annoying and I just skip the paragraph or sometimes page. When the Lords were thrown onto earth they had no control of their demons and wreaked havoc causing and organization called the HUNTERS who are completely retardedly brainwashed humans thinking that the demons are the reason the world is not a perfect Utopia and have made it their personal mission to wipe them out. Baden was the first Lord to go which isn't told until later on in the series, but killing Baden caused his demon to brawl the earth without a host becoming feral causing more damage than the lords did put together.
This right there is a tasty treat to feed the imagination. It leaves you open to all these possibilities! Here are the list of Lords and their demons
Maddox - Keeper of Violence
Lucien - Keeper of Death
Aeron - Keeper of Wrath
Gideon - Keeper of Lies
Galen - Keeper of Hope
Sabin - Keeper of Doubt
Strider - Keeper of Defeat
Paris - Keeper of Promiscuity
Kane - Keeper of Disaster
Cameo - Keeper of Misery
Baden - Keeper of Distrust (Diseased)
Torin - Keeper of Disease
Once you've finished reading one book, (AS LONG AS YOU READ IN ORDER) you will want to read the next and the next because she keeps you trapped slowly telling the rest of the details that don't revolve around the striking romance between Ashyln and Maddox. She really knows how to hook you in the mouth and drag you out of water. Go out and buy this book, read it and drool. Make sure you bring a napkin for your drool and your tears because this book is one hell of a heart string puller.
